fiat materna doula services
the heart behind fiat materna
Fiat Materna was established in response to the voices of women and families I encountered through my work in labor and delivery, as well as through personal connections. Women often experience birth trauma and at times feel reduced to merely just another patient. I felt called to create a space where women are able to feel unconditionally supported. Inspired by the beauty of the Latin phrase Fiat, meaning “let it be done according to God,” Fiat Materna embodies the sacredness of each mother’s own “yes” to the journey she is called to embrace, whatever form it may take. Fiat Materna Doula Services offer a safe haven dedicated to providing individualized care walking hand in hand with mothers and families physically, emotionally, and spiritually, so that every pregnancy, every story, and every maternal journey is honored.

I developed an early calling into healthcare after witnessing loved ones navigate illness and wanting to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. These experiences, along with my own journey through chronic health challenges deepened my desire to serve others. During my senior year of high school, I worked diligently to earn my certification as a nursing assistant and secured a position at an intensive care unit in November of 2023. While working in intensive care, I felt drawn toward labor and delivery and was grateful to step into a role as a labor and delivery certified nursing assistant in July of 2024. My experience in labor and delivery further enhanced my passion for helping women and families through their maternal journeys, which fostered my pursuit of becoming a doula. After working diligently, I completed my comprehensive doula training through Dona International which led me to establishing Fiat Materna. I feel truly honored to serve as a doula and founder of Fiat Materna while continuing to serve in my role as a labor and delivery certified nursing assistant. Furthermore, I am a student midwife pursuing a career as a certified professional midwife. My ongoing pursuit of education reflects both my deep passion and unwavering commitment to supporting women and families through their maternal journeys. Beyond my professional work, I value the benefits of carrying out a healthy lifestyle and enjoy weightlifting and running. I am also deeply rooted in my traditional Catholic faith where I am blessed to serve at my local parish by singing in the church choir and cantoring for weddings and funerals. Helping women and families is my vocation in life and I would be honored to walk with you on your maternal journey.

frequently asked questions
What is a Doula and how does it differ from a Midwife or Doctor?
While Midwives and Doctors are responsible for your medical care, a Doula focuses solely on your comfort, emotional wellbeing, and overall experience. I believe in working in harmony with your medical team so that you receive well-rounded care.
When should I hire a Doula?
Many families choose to hire a Doula early in pregnancy to receive the most comprehensive support, but I welcome clients at any stage. The earlier we begin working together, the more time we have to build a relationship and prepare for your birth experience.
Where do you provide services?
I offer both virtual and in-person support throughout the Central Wisconsin Area. For in person care, I travel to your preferred place of birth including home births, birth centers, and hospitals ensuring you feel supported wherever you choose to welcome your baby.
What do the Prenatal Appointments Include?
During your prenatal appointments, we will discuss your birth preferences, any fears or concerns you may have, and explore comfort measures to help you cope with labor. Together we will create a personalized birth plan tailored to your needs, and I will provide resources to help guide you through both your birth experience and the postpartum period.
